Events Include:
Knockout Competition
Skills Obstacle Course
4 Girl Team Hot Shot Challenge
3 Point Shot Contest 4 on 4 on 4 Games
|
Knockout Competition: Entire group of 36 will be divided into four groups of nine. The four groups of nine will each compete in a traditional game of knock out amongst themselves. The top three from each group of nine will advance to the next round leaving twelve. The remaining twelve will stay in two groups of six and compete amongst themselves. The top three from these two groups will advance to a final six. The final six will compete against each other to determine our Knockout Winner. |
Skills Obstacle Course: Entire group of 36 will individually compete against each other and the clock in an obstacle course. The full court will be divided in half, and the girls will be paired against someone on the other side of the court. They will have to dribble around chairs, make a pass through a tire, dribble the length of the court and make a lay up, then dribble back the length of the court and make a three point shot. The top four time finishers will compete against each other to be the Obstacle Course Winner.
|
4 Girl Team Hot Shot Contest: Entire group of 36 will be divided into nine teams of four. There are five designated spots on the court where a basket needs to be made. One girl is assigned to each spot within 20 feet of the basket and needs to make her shot from that spot before the next girl shoots from her spot. Once all four spot shots are made, all four girls proceed to half court and continually try to make a half court shot until someone makes one. The five spot shots are a lay up, top of the key three pointer, a wing two pointer, a corner two pointer, and half court shot. Maximum time to make all five shots is 90 seconds. Team with the best time in completing all five shots is the Hot Shot Contest Winners.
|
3 Point Contest: Entire group of 36 will individually participate in this traditional 3 point shooting contest. There will be five racks of balls around the perimeter three point line. For 8th Graders, each rack will have four balls - three balls will be worth one point and one bonus ball will be worth two points. For 7th Graders, each rack will have three balls - one ball will be worth two points. 8th Grade contestants will have 60 seconds to complete the five racks. 7th Grade contestants will have 45 seconds to complete the five racks. The scores from the five racks will be totaled, and the top two finishers of each grade will square off to determine the three point contest winners.
|
4 on 4 on 4 Games: Entire group of 36 will be divided into nine teams and compete in a 4 on 4 on 4 full court scrimmage game. First team to five points wins. All teams will play two games each. The three winning teams from the first round of games will play in the finals. Bragging rights for the winning team.
